All of the various rooms I've stayed in from the Standard King through to the Premium Oceanfront Balcony Suite (highly recommended), have shown no signs of any animals having previously stayed before me, in fact, my dog doesn't even sniff all over the place as any dog does when they smell other dogs. They do an amazing job keeping it so clean with however many dogs pass through there.
As a single dog lover/owner who has unexpectedly needed to 'live' near the AC hospital temporarily, the Showboat being pet friendly is a life saver considering how few options there are available locally. In my opinion, as someone who has been spending considerable time at the Showboat over the past 2-3 months, is that this hotel is 100% worth trying out for yourself, if it meets your needs as advertised.
